Dad School: How to create a cohesive brand
In a recent partnership, Clear Aperture Media has teamed up with Dad School, an innovative online course designed to redefine and enrich the concept of fatherhood. Spearheaded by Dr. Mark Stibbe, with the collaboration of Tim Williams (UK) and Theresa Thompson Goode (USA), Dad School represents a significant stride towards nurturing competent fathers and father figures through a faith-based, practical curriculum. This collaboration was a commitment to projects that not only demand a sophisticated technical and creative approach but, contribute to meaningful social change.
The Challenge
The creation of the Dad School project was reliant on a partner with a deep knowledge of e-learning content and the importance of corporate social responsibility. The project’s primary challenge was developing a cohesive brand identity for Dad School that resonated with its core mission; to equip men with the skills necessary for effective fatherhood and it’s core market; fathers or father figures in the UK. This task encompassed creating a distinctive logo, comprehensive branding, a musical palette, and packaging the course content in an engaging and fresh product.
Our Approach
Clear Aperture Media took on this project by first understanding the essence of Dad School. The goal was to create a visual and auditory brand identity that was not only appealing but also deeply reflective of the course's spirit. The process began with the development of the branding, illustrations and logo design, which symbolised the nurturing and supportive role of a father, and the relationship between father and child, one of safety and trust.
The below illustrations would add to the look and feel of the brand, supporting the ideas of clarity, growth and fatherhood. Line drawings were chosen as the best way to evoke these themes and maintain a minimal and stylish look.
The branding strategy extended to a musical palette that complemented the course's content, with a trusted in-house composer, Clear Aperture Media opted to create a completely unique score for the project, to ensure a rich collection of considered and custom music that fully enhances the content.
Content creation involved producing high-quality video sessions and promotional materials that communicate the course's seven essential fatherhood skills: Fun, Affirmation, Time, Hugs, Example, Rules, and Security. Each element of the content was crafted to resonate with viewers on a personal level, encouraging them to embark on their journey towards healing and growth as fathers.
The Result
The collaboration between Clear Aperture Media and Dad School culminated in a brand identity that truly speaks to the heart of potential and existing fathers. The visual and auditory branding successfully encapsulates the essence of Dad School, inviting men to explore and develop their fathering skills in a supportive and understanding community.
The impact of this partnership goes beyond the creation of a brand identity. It has laid the foundation for Dad School to reach a wider audience, empowering more men to become the fathers they aspire to be. The comprehensive branding and content strategy have made the course more accessible and engaging, ensuring that participants feel supported and motivated throughout their learning journey.
